Football People That Need to be Punched in the Face...Like NOW
- Chad Ochocinco: Seriously? You're a tool. You are a great receiver but you have no clue how to run with the ball. Sure, making the catches is great but how are you going make yards after the catch if you don't secure the football? Another thing, stop thinking that you are the best receiver in football. News flash: YOU'RE NOT!! According to fantasy numbers you are ranked number 8. So stop jumping into opposing teams' stands and believing you're number one.
- Tony Romo: Granted, I don't have as much beef with you as I do with Ochocinco. The main reason I think you need to be punched in the face is because you're a Cowboy. That aside though, I do think you are a good football player but I think you are a jerk of a person. You dumped Jessica Simpson basically on her birthday. And you also seem to always have an issue with your big name WR. Granted the last one was T.O. and everyone has a problem with him but this is one is Roy Williams. I don't know as much about Williams but it is a repeat problem. Maybe the issue is you Romo and not so much your WR.
- The Patriots: Yes. The whole team including the coaches. I HATE YOU! You somehow got the announcers to bend over backward to say that you are the best team in the NFL. You're not. Granted, you've won three Super Bowls since 2004 and you had a perfect regular season two years ago but stop thinking that this makes you gods and that you can cheat. You play in a really crappy division so stop thinking that this makes you good.
- The People Who Decide What Games Each City Gets to Watch: I am still bitter about last week. Look at my previous post to understand why.
- The Giants: That is correct. I want to punch my beloved Giants in the face. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!!!! You were looking so freakin good and then you got your asses beat by the Saints. I wasn't sure you were going to win but the fact that you got your heads cut off and served to you on a platter made me want to cry. Then you lost to the Cardinals and the Eagles. You should have beat both of those teams! I mean the Eagles lost to the Raiders! I am a Giants fan for life and will always root for you but I am very, very, VERY disappointed in you right now. Get it together before I fly to the Meadowlands and punch every single one of you in the face.
Things That I Think Have Potential to be Good
- Government Provided Health Care: First off, I said potential in the list title. I was going to read the bill the house just passed but it is 1990 pages so I will have to read it in bits. I can't trust news stations or the two people who I would normally go to about political issues (one is a republican and one is a democrat) because they will only tell me that is 1) a great thing (and list reasons) or 2) a terrible thing (and list reasons). Back to my point. I think the idea is great as long as I'm not forced to participate in the government's plan. It is capitalism at its best. The government throws out this plan that is meant to help those who don't have health care so it will be pretty basic and not judge you based upon a previous condition (like being pregnant...yes I'm serious. This is considered a pre-existing condition and if you are pregnant you can't get health insurance). Thus, the private companies will increase the coverage of their basic plan because why would I pay for something that I can get for free? Thus this would increase the quality of private insurance. It is supply and demand. If the private companies make their base plans better then the government plans, people that can already afford health insurance will more then likely go for the better quality plan. I know I would. And yes, I am aware that people will tell me that this will increase the national debt. But this is where I point out the word "potential." I can't explain the national debt issue because it is so big and every thing the government does increases the national debt. I'm not a economist so I can't tell you how to fix that problem. I just think in theory this is a good idea. (side note...every says they are afraid of the bill. I'm not so I don't understand why people are. If you are able to answer this question without insulting me I welcome your answer)
- Teach for America: I'm going to be a teacher. I have gone through the training and the field experience for my degree. Teach for America is a great idea but it is putting people who have none of this in the field of teaching. They are expected to learn on the job. But they are not certified nor are they fully prepared (unless they already have an educational background). Teaching is harder then it looks and although the idea of putting teachers in much needed areas, the teachers being placed have no advanced training scares me. In theory, Teach for America is a great idea. I just wish it would be at least a year of training before they put teachers in the field instead of only 5 weeks.
I could create more lists but I think this is enough for now.
